Free Your Inner Writer: Step Eight
Relax. By now you’ve probably got several ideas for something you wish to write. Take one and write it at the top of one of the pages in your notebook. Then answer the following questions as completely as possible. Do so in the form of a “Dear Your Name” letter to yourself. The only other rule for this exercise is beginning with the sentence, “I have a great idea to write. It’s a book, article, screenplay (whatever), entitled...
Questions: 1. Where did this idea come from? 2. Why do you want to write it? 3. What elements of your life or experience as a person makes you qualified to write it? 4. What do you hopr to learn from writing this? 5. Who do you think will read it? Why? 6. What literary sources do you think you would be interested in publishing it? Why? 7. How do you see the final,. Completed project appearing? 8.Do you see any potential spin-offs or sequels coming out of this project? If so, what are they? 9. Besides the above, what other ideas for your writing do you have?
Don’t forget, write any reactions, ideas, or emotions that come from this exercise in your notebook.
